Immunisation Clinic Perth

St John Immunisation & Vaccination Clinics in Perth
Immunisation protects against a range of preventable diseases and infections. At St John General Practice, we offer a comprehensive range of immunisations across our St John Health Clinics in Perth. We provide all childhood immunisations, both script and order vaccinations.
We also offer our annual Flu Clinic to provide protection against winter influenza.
Whooping cough vaccine
hooping cough (Pertussis) is a highly infectious disease caused by the bacterium Bordetella pertussis. It affects the respiratory tract, leading to pneumonia, brain damage and occasionally death.
Whooping cough vaccinations, which are only available as a combination vaccine that includes other antigens such as tetanus and diphtheria, are a safe and effective way to protect you and your family.
Whooping cough vaccinations are recommended for:
- Children aged 2 months, 4 months, 6 months and 18 months
- Children aged 4 and between 10 to 15 years old
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding
- Healthcare workers
- Early childhood carers and educators
- People in close contact with infants
Yellow fever vaccinations
If you are planning on travelling to Central or South America, the Caribbean or Africa, we recommend taking precautions against yellow fever.
Yellow fever is a mosquito borne infection that currently has no treatment. However, prevention via yellow fever vaccinations are highly effective and recommended to those travelling to areas or countries where the risk of transmission is present. Yellow fever vaccinations are safe and almost 100 percent effective.
Yellow fever can take 3 to 6 days to appear and can cause mild to serious illness and, in some cases, death. Symptoms may include fever, nausea, vomiting, muscle pain, headaches, and weakness. In serious cases, jaundice, visible bleeding, liver and kidney failure may also occur.
